Pulling mechanism and slider wedge mechanism in powder molding mold

During the powder molding process, due to the requirements on the charging ratio and the uniformity of the structure and density of the pressed blanks, in addition to the cavity design of the powder molding mold, the entire mold and the mold frame must be used in the design. The related structures in the mechanical design or mold design are combined with the press, the mold forming parts and the connecting parts to achieve the molding requirements of the powder metallurgy molds.

 

The powder molding mold is generally a vertical press structure. If the pressing direction of the powder molding mold is called axial, the direction perpendicular thereto is radial, and in general, the blanks pressed by the powder molding mold are often only axial. Holes do not design radial holes.

 

In this way, because the pressing direction and the core pulling direction are on the same axis, and only the directions are the same or opposite, the axial core pulling operation can be normally completed by the press machine and the mold frame, and only the axial hole is formed on the core. With a proper draft angle, the loading, pressing and stripping of the axial hole can be realized completely.

 

The slider wedge mechanism in the powder forming mold is similar to the side parting and core-pulling mechanism of the injection mold and the die casting mold, but the roles of the two are different. The former is to solve the consistency of the density of the powder metallurgy products and along the axial direction. The contoured powder method, which is not used for the same size but used for powder filling, forms the respective dimensions of the height of the blank when the pressing is completed.

 

When demolding is required, the wedge moves axially through the ramp to create a radial movement to open the slider, and the associated contoured part moves axially to release the mold. When the latter is equivalent to a plastic part or a die casting with a side groove or a side hole, the mold must be provided with a laterally-typed core-pulling mechanism.

 

The effect of this structure is that before the mold is ejected, the core of the module or side hole of the lateral mold of the molding part must be disengaged from or pulled out of the plastic part, and then the plastic part can be along the axial direction. It is the injection molding or die casting direction that completes the mold release.
